Don’t Get Confused, It’s Can-Fusion

Denise Wai

Denice Wai

Host, Chef

In a new recipe for 2021 TAIWANfest, Denice Wai clears up confusion with a new dish “Can-Fusion”! She has created her take on the theme Dialogue with Korea and parts of her own background being Canadian and from Hong Kong. Her dish called “Can-fusion” is a delicious ensemble of Hong Kong stir-fried rice, local Canadian beef, and Korean pepper paste to form her harmonious version of a Korean rice bowl. As a chef, what are her perspectives on some popular Vancouver eats? And how has the pandemic been like as a chef? A close friend of TAIWANfest, Denice sits down with us for a one-on-one chat to share her story.
